Ice Story

I found something today at the local library. What could it be......(Any ideas Alan)?
Hint #1: Jake with the evidence

Hint #2: Could it be Shackleton? Okay, so maybe my hints were a little obvious, but NO WAAY....A children's book about Shackleton's expedition to Antartica!!?!!

Do I even need to make a comment?

Little League

Jake's first Little League game. Rockies vs Giants. 3 at bats, 3 hits. Giants won by 2 runs, but it was fun. Way to go bud!

Making "the dream"

Snapshots...

...of my day working on my dream. Dream garden that is. It was just a little bit windy, in the gale force wind sort of way, but it was 70 degrees....and I have the sunburn to prove it!

not MY kids...

Whose kids are these?
...and why haven't they been fed?

(Good thing I didn't post the skinny pictures!)

Thar she blows!

We made volcanoes at Jake's school today. It was a BLAST!
Many of you already know how to do this, but just in case you get bored, or have forgotten one of vinegar's "other" uses, here are the instructions to make a volcano erupt:

Vinegar Volcano

You will need:
a parent or adult to help out
2 small plastic soda bottles
paper cone
vinegar
baking soda
red food discussion
liquid soap
large tray or plate
funnel

1. Make a paper cone to form volcano shape that is large enough to cover one of the soda bottles
2. Using a funnel, fill one of the bottles until it is about one-third (1/3) full of vinegar.
3. Add a few drops of red food coloring.
4. Add one tablespoon of liquid soap, and put bottle aside.
5. In second bottle, pour in three teaspoons of baking soda.
6. Place the paper cone over the bottle. Make sure that the volcano’s hole is level with the bottle opening.
7. Using a funnel, pour in the vinegar and soap mixture.
8. Remove the funnel and wait!

Who's the Hero?

We battled it out with Guitar Hero over the weekend. Jake is amazing...but I was better. :) Of course, Todd beat us all, but he had played before. Josh says I missed my calling in life. I'm not so sure about that!

P.S. Did I mention that Jake is amazing???

Loaded Down

Albertsons had a crazy sale on Kellogg's cereal yesterday. It was so cheap that I bought an entire year's supply....We eat a lot of cereal at our house, especially with Todd staying with us...so it took some fancy foot work to fit it all in the car. Do I hear "WT"???
