Little Firemen

I had to return some CPR Annie's that I borrowed from the fire department to teach the young women CPR for girl's camp. While we were there, the guys there were nice enough to let the little boys check out all of the trucks. Jake & Lander have now added "I want to be a fireman" to the list of "I want to be a professional golfer, or a garbage man".

Tag-your it!

So, I have been tagged. Good thing it wasn't 2 weeks ago. My pictures would have portrayed a much different story!

1. Kitchen Sink
Yes, those would be flowers. I have been putting off planting them for more than a week now. (Gasp!) Shocking, I know.

2. Refrigerator
Our fridge is owned by the kids, definitely not me. I just live here....and I cook, and clean (sometimes), and I am the taxi, and the doctor, and the yard man, and...wait...I think I am getting gypped!

3. Toilet
I cleaned my upstairs bathrooms yesterday, but the downstairs....Ewww...This one was still covered in pink frosting. Eating cupcakes while in the bathroom? Now that is what I call multitasking!

4. Laundry

5. What the kids are doing
We just got back from swimming lessons, hence the tub scene. I caught Lander organizing his underwear drawer. He takes after his Aunt Keri. And this was ten minutes later when they were supposed to be cleaning their room:

6. Favorite Room

This was a toss up. I love any room that is neat & tidy, which right now means that my only option is the bedroom. Of course, I LOVE bedtime, so this is probably a good option anyway.

7. Closet
Okay, I hate to brag, but I have an AWESOME closet. It's my little sanctuary!

8. Favorite Shoes
Josh brought these little guys home after a foray at DI. I have worn them to shreds and I want to replace them, but they didn't have a tag on them. I think they may be from the 70's. Life is rough isn't it!

9. Self Portrait
Keri, this one is for you BABE!

10. Dream Vacation
I think I may have spent too much time reading Nancy Atherton's Aunt Dimity series, because right now I would love to spend a few months in a quaint cottage in the highlands and then spend time touring Italy, Germany, Montenegro, Denmark & Finland. Do you think they would let Josh do a quick round at St. Andrew's while we're at it??

I am tagging: Kelsey, Jin, Shelly, & Cameron...get to it girls!

An Apple a Day...

Lander had a creative streak while eating his snack last week. He came running to me saying, "Look Mommy! My apple loves you!"

just for DAD

Dad--
Check out the FiRsT plant to fLowEr in my yard this year. They may not be from ColOrAdo, but they are still gEorGIoUs!

Vallecito

Wishing Well

We met up with Keri & Randy at Fransisco's, a Mexican restaurant in Durango. I think the boys had been cooped up in the car for too long. They couldn't resist making wishes in the fountain.

Million Dollar Highway

This is the "Million Dollar Highway" that goes from Ouray to Silverton. It cost a million dollars per mile to build, an unheard of sum back in the day. It tops out at more than 10,000 feet in elevation too. Notice the alarming lack of guardrails!

Ouray, Colorado

We spent some time over Memorial Weekend in Colorado. Take a "peak"! This is a picture taken from a moving car while driving from Ridgeway to Ouray.

Ouray, Colorado--a little isolated, but I could live here!

We hiked up Box Canyon. Insane people ice climb this canyon in the winter.

Jake freaked out just standing by the guardrail! The hike required climbing nearly a zillion stairs but is one of the coolest places we have ever seen.

Ponderosa Pine

T-Ball

Lander started T-ball last week. Talk about FUNNY! Kids were picking there noses, staring off in space, jumping around. I just couldn't stop laughing. Lander enjoyed it, though, and really got in to the game. He felt like a big kid wearing Josh's old little league uniform & he played like a big kid. I am trying to convince Josh to coach next year so he can play on Jake's team...wish me luck! (Lander is wearing the Indian's shirt & white pants)
