Celebrating the 4th

Lately, it seems like we always end up in Driggs for the 4th of July and (thankfully) this year was no different even if we did have a few twists thrown into our normal routine.

It started by helping Nana move into Gram's house. We're not sure what the Idaho boys must've thought when they saw her furniture. Definitely not something that they are used to seeing!

Lander spent an hour on the porch swing with Grams, just the two of them. She told him stories of Yellow Knife, the indian boy who lived on this land years ago. Why, oh why, didn't I sneak a tape recorder out there????
We had a little "surprise" for Nana's birthday. Jake escorted Nana to find it.
Then the boys snuck away for a little disc golf action. Where would we be without disc golf?
Nice form, Jake.
 And you too, Lander.
We visited Huntsman Springs for their annual Celebrate America community event. After looking at all of the classic cars, a few of us decided that if we could choose just one, it would have to be this one.  Wouldn't it be just too cool to travel in time?
We took a little bike ride up Horseshoe Creek and saw a deer.

In the evening, we settled down for a patriotic tribute on the green at Huntsman Springs
(My goodness, did I just rhyme?)
and some AMAZING fireworks. They really outdid themselves this year. Jake told John Huntsman Sr that very thing the next day when we saw him at church. John Hunstman hugged Jake, told him that he looked like his grandson, and said "I just love your red hair" as he tousled those orangey-red locks.
Then we topped it off with a dinner date to Scratch, aka Scratch-n-Sniff, with Brad and a wonderful day at Lava Hot Springs where the boys jumped off of the 7 m high dive.
It was a great 4th of July!

How fun! Neat that Jake had that experience with Jon Huntsman. The picture of Lander and Grams is priceless.

Oh, and Randy's uncle once owned a Delorean (sp?) like that!
