Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Sorry about breaking into song, but I just couldn't get Julie Andrews voice out of my head as I thought of this next post. In fact, I'm singing the words right now to the song "My Favorite Things" (hope that makes you smile, Mom!) But, why, oh why didn't we get more pictures of those simple little things that we loved about Holland?? Here a few of my favorite things about our trip to the Netherlands.
Having fun with Lamar and Melanie
Nieuwe Kerk "New Church" bell tower, Delft
riding bikes to do shopping on the Langstraat
sunrise from our bedroom
the moist, cloudy days (my hair is still freaking out and is a static mess now that we're home!) and the green
garden wall on the Langstraat
shopping for groceries in Dutch
